FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about running your experience business on Sojournii.

Pricing

Do you charge a percentage of bookings?

No, we charge a flat monthly fee instead. Getting Started is free, Standard is $50 AUD per month, and Kitchen Sink is $150 AUD per month (all including GST). This means your margin stays yours—we don't take a cut of every booking.

Can I pay annually?

Annual pricing is available—contact us for a quote. We offer a modest discount for committing to a full year, and it gives you predictability for budgeting.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 30 days free on Standard or Kitchen Sink once you create your account. After the trial, you'll move to the tier you choose, or the free Getting Started plan if you prefer.

What's included in Getting Started?

Getting Started covers basic booking management: up to 15 guests per booking, waivers, analytics, and simple widgets. Payments and seasonal features are not available on this tier.

Do you offer discounts for longer commitments?

Annual plans include a discount compared to monthly billing. If you have a large operation or specific needs, reach out—we can often work something out.

Comparisons

How does Sojournii compare to Rezdy on pricing?

Rezdy charges a monthly subscription plus a 3% per-online-booking fee on top, with payment processing as a separate pass-through cost. Sojournii is flat — $50 AUD/month Standard or $150 AUD/month Kitchen Sink — with no per-booking fee on any channel. Stripe pass-through applies on both sides.

How does Sojournii compare to Bokun on pricing and ownership?

Bokun is a travel-conglomerate-owned platform that charges a monthly subscription plus a 1% to 1.5% fee on applicable bookings, with the parent marketplace's bookings at 0%. Sojournii is independently owned with flat monthly pricing and no per-booking fee on any channel.

How does Sojournii compare to FareHarbor on pricing?

FareHarbor (a subsidiary of Booking Holdings) does not publish pricing publicly — rates are only available through a sales consultation. Sojournii publishes flat monthly plans on its pricing page and is independently owned.

Do you name specific competitors on your site?

Sparingly. The pricing calculator references named platforms when modelling rate comparisons, with each rate claim backed by a verifiable citation in our private store and card processing broken out so the comparison is apples-to-apples. Elsewhere we use generic category language ("percentage-fee platforms", "OTA-integrated booking software") rather than naming individual competitors.

What does your rate include?

Sojournii is a flat monthly subscription — $0 for Free (up to 50 bookings/mo), $50 AUD/mo for Standard, or $150 AUD/mo for Kitchen Sink. Card processing is passed through at cost via Stripe — there is no markup. Many percentage-fee platforms quote a booking-fee percentage that does NOT include card processing; their card processing is also a separate pass-through. Our card processing is also separate and varies depending on your Stripe plan and card type.

Does a deposit reduce my platform fees?

On a flat plan, a deposit is purely a cashflow lever — your platform cost is $50 or $150 AUD per month regardless. On many percentage-fee platforms, the booking fee is charged on the full booking value at booking time, even when only a deposit is collected up front. So the deposit doesn't reduce the platform fee on those platforms — it just changes when guest funds clear.

Distribution

Do you integrate with online travel agencies?

No, deliberately. We build for operators who want to own their customer relationships and run products that OTA templates can't handle well—like waivers, multi-day trips, and complex seasons. Selling through marketplaces requires giving up control and margin.

What if I also want to sell through marketplace platforms?

You can list on marketplaces in addition to Sojournii. They'll have their own booking flows, but your Sojournii bookings stay separate and you keep full control over direct bookings. We don't block it, we just don't integrate with them.

Is the no-OTA approach permanent?

Yes, it's core to our philosophy. We think operators own relationships with guests and should control their product presentation. If marketplace integration matters to you, Sojournii isn't the right fit.

Can guests find my bookings through search engines?

Yes. Sojournii creates search-optimised pages for your bookings so they show up in Google and other search engines. You own the SEO benefit of direct bookings.

AI

Can AI tools access my availability?

Yes, structured data. Your availability and pricing are published in standardised formats (Schema.org Event and Offer markup) that AI tools can read. We're actively building integrations with Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude so guests can ask these tools to find and book your experiences. Get in touch for early access.

Will my data be used to train AI models?

No. Your data is yours. We publish structured data for AI tools to read, but we don't share your data with training systems or use it to improve third-party models.

What AI assistants will integrate with Sojournii?

We're starting with Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude. Both can read your availability and help guests discover and book your experiences. We'll announce new integrations as they're ready.

How do guests book through an AI assistant?

Once integrated, guests ask the AI assistant to find a booking that matches their needs. The assistant searches your structured data, shows options, and can complete the booking directly if the guest approves.

How do I ensure my availability is accurate for AI tools?

Sojournii syncs your availability to AI-readable structured data automatically. Keep your calendar and inventory updated in Sojournii, and AI tools always see the current state.

Payments

Which payment methods do you support?

Standard and Kitchen Sink plans support Stripe, Square, PayPal, and bank transfer. Getting Started only supports free bookings (no payments). You choose which methods to enable.

Can I take deposits instead of full payment upfront?

Yes. You can collect a deposit at booking and the remaining balance later. The booking holds the spot, and you can track what's still owed.

Do you handle international payments?

Stripe, Square, and PayPal handle currency conversion and international transactions. Bank transfer works for Australian accounts; international transfers are possible but usually require a correspondent bank.

What about refunds?

Refunds are your call. Sojournii doesn't force a refund policy—you set your cancellation terms and handle refunds manually or via automatic rules. Payment processors pass the refund back to the guest's original method.

Do you charge transaction fees?

No fees from Sojournii. Your payment processor (Stripe, Square, PayPal) charges their standard rates, which you already know.

Getting started

How long does onboarding take?

You can be taking bookings in under an hour. Add your experience details, create a booking template, set up payment (if you like), and publish. Most operators finish in 30–45 minutes.

Can I import my existing bookings and customer data?

Yes, we have CSV import tools for bookings and customer lists. We'll map your data to our system so you don't lose history.

Is there a steep learning curve?

No. The interface is intentionally simple—booking templates, schedules, and analytics are straightforward. Our docs and support team will help you settle in.

Do you offer onboarding support?

Yes. Standard and Kitchen Sink plans include email support and help resources. We can also arrange a call to walk through setup if needed.

What if I'm not technical?

Sojournii is designed for non-technical operators. No coding required. If you can use email and a web browser, you can run bookings on Sojournii.

Features

Do you support multi-day trips?

Yes. Create booking templates that span multiple days. Guests book the whole experience, and you manage availability across the entire duration.

Can I create seasonal pricing?

Yes, publish seasonal pricing rules. Set different prices for peak and off-season, school holidays, or any period you define. Guests see the right price for their chosen date.

Do you have built-in waivers?

Yes. Create custom waivers that guests sign at booking or check-in. Sojournii stores signed copies for your records.

Can I embed booking widgets on my own website?

Yes, Standard and Kitchen Sink plans include embeddable widgets. Drop a snippet on your site and guests book directly without leaving your page.

What analytics are available?

Track bookings, revenue, cancellations, and guest trends by date, template, and source. Getting Started has basic views; Standard and Kitchen Sink include detailed reports and exports.

Data security

Where is my data stored?

Sojournii is hosted in Australia. Your data is stored securely in Australian data centres in compliance with local law and privacy standards.

Are you GDPR compliant?

Yes. We meet GDPR requirements for European customer data and provide data processing agreements. We also comply with the Australian Privacy Act for Australian operators and guests.

What happens to my data if I cancel my plan?

Your data is retained for 6 months after cancellation in case you want to re-activate. You can export bookings and customer data anytime. After 6 months, data is securely deleted.

Can I export my data?

Yes, export bookings, customer lists, and analytics reports as CSV at any time. You own your data.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes, all data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS), and sensitive customer data is encrypted at rest. Payment information is handled by PCI-compliant processors.
